?!!?? Too Busy ?!!??

I found an interesting article that describes most of us -- TOO BUSY (no surprise there right)! However check-it out, our friends over at LearnVest ("a.k.a. LV") have come up with 13 signs of being TOO busy, and I was all tuned in from their introduction paragraph. "Busy is running from one appointment to the next. Too busy is running over someone on your way to the next appointment. Busy is leaving your cell phone behind at the grocery store.  Too busy is leaving your  kid behind at the grocery store."

The site, LearnVest, whose motto is, "strive to make our lives richer" even gives us some signs that should make us yield with caution and a few suggestion to help us slow it down. 

• Do you spend a good amount of time worrying about your time? If so, try to take a mental break. What is that you ask?? Remove one thing from your schedule just for today ladies that is the least important.  I agree with LV that putting off doing the laundry or not making that one work call could make all the difference in regaining your sense of mind.
• Have you not talked to your best friend in weeks?  I'm awful for this one, before I know it a week has turned into weeks.  LV suggests that you calendar and schedule in regular reminders to catch up with the important persons on your list. ***Elle would like to remind you that dropping a quick note in the mail to say "Hello, thinking of you" is always a grand idea and such a great way to stay connected as well. Mon-Day Madness!

{OK Fine It's Monday!}

I am hoping this MonDAY finds you all well and have enjoyed your weekend.  As the warmer weather heads in I'm feeling very excited for all the things that mean summer .... like ice-cream, corn on the cob, walks downtown in the city, festivals, lemonade, manicures and pedicures, and winery tours.  OOH and lets not forget SUMMER PARTIES, and when it comes to that Elle Designs has you covered from cook-outs, weekend cocktail parties, girlfriend gatherings and just plain summer hanging out with family and friends - what could be better!

Here are a few of our Monday finds to get your week going  --

• A girls gotta have some color in her life ... the nail polish colors that are a big hit for Spring/Summer 2011 include blues, nudes, pastels and greys. Check out the Sephora website, or the store nearest you and pick out your favorite color today. It's the biggest and best pick-me-up for under $10.00.   

• Mark your calendars now for Northern Virgina's favo upcoming  festivals:

          Celebrate Fairfax Festival June 10 - 12, 2011

          4th Annual Northern Virginia Summer Brewfest June 25 - 26, 2011

• For all of my lemonade fans, which taste so much better if being enjoyed with friends, while enjoying the great weather outside, here is a recipe from the web for you to try that got my attention when I got to the 4th ingredient -- ENJOY!!!:

Lemonade

• 1 cup sugar
• 1 cup water
• 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
• 4 oz of lemon-flavored vodka
• 1/2 tablespoon freshly grated lemon zest

Mix the sugar and water in a small pot and boil to make a simple syrup. Let cool. Add 1/2 cup simple syrup, lemon juice, vodka and lemon zest. Stir together and serve. For a twist, pour ingredients into ice cube trays, add raspberries, sprig of mint or a slice of lemon (rind included) and freeze.

Blend cubes together in a blender.
